The two-week-long joint military exercise between the United States and India concluded in Uttarakhand on Tuesday. Both the countries exchanged technological know-how, especially on counter-insurgency operations. The drill started at Chaubatia, 350 kms from Dehradun, on September 14.State-of-the-art equipments for surveillance, tracking and identification of terrorists were introduced to the soldiers during the exercise, said an Army note.Earlier on Monday, the joint exercise was reviewed by Major General RK Raina, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Garud Division of the Indian Army and Major General Thomas James, Commanding General, 7 Infantry Division of the US army. This was the 12th time in history the two nations have come together for a military exercise. Such a join drill was first held in 2004.This was the second time Chaubatia was chosen for the exercise, last being in 2014. Last year it was organised at Joint Base Lewis McChord in the United States. Earlier, in June this year, a trilateral Naval exercise was held between India, US and Japan close to the South China Sea.
