The Anbot, China’s first-ever security robot has been hired for its first job at the Shenzhen airport where it can be seen making round-the-clock patrols through the departure hall in Terminal 3.
Its primary function will be facial recognition. The robot has four high-definition cameras which it can use to snap pictures of travelers’ faces, and then send them immediately to human coworkers for further analysis, People’s Daily reports.
However, the Anbot isn’t just some glorified security camera. In case of emergencies it can also incapacitate threats via caddle prod of justice. EXTERMINATE!
And there is no escape for terrorists, as this little guy can also acclerate to a max speed of 18 km per hour. Plus, the best thing about airport departure halls: not too many stairs!
We’d like to see some late travelers try and push past the AnBot to make it out to the tarmac.
Hey, if it this gig doesn’t work out, then there are always openings in the Guangzhou service industry.
